Statler College Outreach Visits

Visit Statler College

Students in grades K-12, along with their parents and educators, are invited to visit the Statler College to learn about science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) through interactive projects led by current engineering students. We are happy to work with you to set up a tour of our facilities or to host an event at our STEMzone.

The STEMzone is a bright, visually stimulating space that can accommodate up to 35 people, where students have access to items such as hand tools, 3D printers, Legos, STEM kits and more. Students who visit our STEMzone will learn how the engineering design process works and gain hands-on experience with a variety of engineering-based projects.

For more information and to coordinate a WVU visit, please reach out to the Visitor's Center.

Let us visit you!

The Statler College has Outreach specialists that are happy to visit K-12 classes (public, private, or homeschool) to talk to your students about engineering, careers in engineering and the opportunities available at the WVU Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources.

During these visits, current engineering students will lead hands-on demonstrations and projects designed to educate your students on opportunities in the engineering field, all at no charge to your school.

We do not have a set program for school visits. We are flexible and will tailor our programming and projects to meet your schools’ unique needs. Typically, it is easiest to work with a maximum of 30 students per session, but we will work with you to set up the optimal visit to accommodate your school.

To coordinate a visit, whether at Statler College or to have us visit your school, please Julie Gruber at julie.gruber@mail.wvu.edu.
